Upload Methods

The Statements module supports multiple ways to upload your royalty statements.

Drag and Drop

Navigate to Statements

Go to StatementsFiles in the sidebar.

Drag Files

Drag statement files from your computer and drop them into the main area.

Wait for Upload

Files are uploaded and queued for processing automatically.

Upload Button

Click Upload

Click the Upload button in the action bar.

Select Files

Choose files from your computer.

Add Metadata

Optionally add source and period information.

Confirm

Start the upload process.

Bulk Upload

For multiple statements:

Organize Files

Group statements by source or period.

Select Multiple

Select all files to upload at once.

Monitor Queue

Track progress in the upload queue.

Supported Formats

For very large statements, consider splitting them into smaller files for faster processing.

Statement Metadata

When uploading, you can provide helpful metadata:

Statement Source

Identify where the statement came from:
  • Distributor (DistroKid, TuneCore, etc.)
  • DSP (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
  • PRO (ASCAP, BMI, PRS, etc.)
  • Label/Publisher (specific company)

Statement Period

Specify the time period covered:
  • Start Date - Beginning of the period
  • End Date - End of the period
  • Accounting Period - Q1 2024, H2 2023, etc.

Upload Queue

The upload queue shows:

Staging Area

After upload, statements appear in staging:

Review Extraction

Check the extracted data for accuracy.

Verify Mappings

Ensure columns are mapped correctly.

Fix Issues

Correct any extraction errors.

Approve

Approve to complete processing.

Column Mapping

The AI auto-maps columns, but you can adjust:

DSPs Direct

  • Access through Spotify for Artists portal
  • Download streaming reports

  • Download from Apple Music analytics

PROs

  • Download from ASCAP Member Access
  • PDF or Excel format
  • Performance royalty details
  • Access through BMI Online

Best Practices

Upload the original files from sources without modifications.
Keep meaningful file names for easier identification.
Include source and period information when uploading.
Establish a routine to upload statements as they arrive.

  • Check for corrupted files
